With 2023 being a year 7 in numerology it seems only fitting to intuitively select a crystal that’s name vibrates to a 7 in numerology. Whilst there are lots of crystals whose name added up to 7 including Petalite, Chevron Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Wulfenite, Kunzite, Fluorite and Andalusite, it was Charoite that immediately called out to me.

First discovered in 1940, it wasn’t shared with the world till 1978 which was also a Year 7 in numerology!

With its brilliant purple and violet colours it resonates with the Violet Flame of Transmutation and in Theosophy it is the 7th Ray. The following description is an extract from the Lucis Trust website and is from A talk given at the Theosophical Society of Edinburgh, 30 September 2010 by Sarah McKechnie.
7th ray – The energy of Ceremonial Order. This is the coordinating capacity which unifies inner quality and outer tangible form or appearance. This ray primarily involves the etheric levels and thus governs the true magical work - the spiritualising of forms.
Higher Expression: All forms of white magic.
Lower Expression: Spiritualism – emphasis on form, "phenomena."

The essence of the 7th ray is found in the familiar aphorism of Hermes Trismegistus: "As above so below." The scientist David Bohm also touched upon the 7th ray in his theory of the Implicate Order, a new form of insight which he defined as Undivided Wholeness in Flowing Movement. A hologram is the symbol of the implicate order, he said: "A total order is contained, in some implicit sense, in each region of space and time.”
Its name is derived from the Chara (or Charo) River in eastern Siberia, Russia, where it is found. Interestingly political prisoners were kept nearby and Charoite is considered a source of comfort and a symbol of endurance in adversity. It is also a beautiful crystal to combat feelings of loneliness and dispersing fear on every level (conscious and unconscious).

I experience Charoite as a spiritually aligning presence that connects the head and the heart chakras and awakening the souls heart compass for decision making.

It helps us to analyse and understand past experiences and assimilate their higher purpose gifting wisdom and acceptance to move forward with Grace.

I consider Charoite a friendly reminder that we are all in service to the Divine Soul of All Love and All Creation and that only love and forgiveness releases us and All from suffering. A year 7 can be a highly judgmental time and Charoite supports us to be flexible and ask the question “What would love do?”
Physically, Charoite may be advised or used by Crystal Healing Therapists for treating sleep issues including nightmares, insomnia and headaches. It is believed to support the nervous system and immune system.

To say that the mineral charoite is a silicate of complex composition is an understatement. For example, one mineralogical source describes it as a hydrated potassium, sodium, calcium, barium, strontium, silicate hydroxyfluoride! Finding it’s chemical formula is a nightmare and sources vary simply because Charoite is intimately intertwined with many other minerals!

Chemical formula: K5Ca8(Si6O15)2(Si2O7)Si4O9(OH)•3(H2O) Crystal structure: Monoclinic Mineral family: Silicate Hardness: 5 Mohs Scale

Because Charoite is only found in mountainous valleys of Siberia In Russia where the average temperature is -35 Celsius it is recommended that you do not subject it to intense heat as it may damage it.
